  9. Summary: Micro-Bridge Companion is the best. By far.

  11. In the 15 comparison categories, Micro-Bridge Companion
  12. came in first by a wide margin in all but 1 -
  13. in "Sounds/Visuals", it tied for first.
  14.  
  15. It was much stronger (bidding and play), much faster,
  16. and took much less RAM & disk space than the competition.
  17. It had superb on-line documentation (printed docs are weak).
  18. It was hard to find: see  "Ordering Info" file for sources.

  20. One quantitive comparison: the author took 12 bridge
  21. columns (from Omar Sharif's column - who endorses
  22. Bridge Deluxe, one of the "other" programs), and had
  23. each program play them. On each of the 12 hands, he
  24. awarded match points (IMPs) to each program based on
  25. how well they did with respect to the worst result for
  26. that hand. Micro-Bridge Companion got 121 pts,
  27. the other programs 73, 48, and 48 points.
